POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) / Supply Chain at Ocean State Job Lot (OSJL) provides Human Resource strategy and support to the Distribution Center (DC) within the Supply Chain division. This leadership role leads a team of DC HR Generalists and HR Coordinators. This role will be responsible for leading change initiatives, sourcing, developing, retaining talent, and coaching leadership to improve culture. The HRBP role will develop and sponsor initiatives to drive employee engagement, maintain positive associate relations, proactive communication, manage performance, drive internal development, complete workforce planning, interpret policy, administer and advise on compensation decisions and ensure compliance with company Mission, Vision and Values, HR policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coach, influence, and provide guidance to business partners to determine optimal organizational design, development, and performance management plans to manage employee relations issues and other policy issues.
- Ensure compliance with relevant and current HR legal standards including FMLA, ADA, and EEO.
- Manage talent assessment, coaching and development, proactive workforce planning through succession planning processes for DC leadership.
- Attract, develop, and drive retention of employees.
- Leverage talent acquisition support and processing to recruit internally and to develop targeted external recruiting efforts for critical competencies.
- Lead and champion workforce diversity.
- Drive progressive, proactive, and positive employee relations culture while increasing levels of engagement, enablement, and retention.
- Leverage systems and processes including round tables, and departmental communication and best practice initiatives.
- Manage compensation plan for the group(s) in conjunction with corporate compensation philosophy and groups functional pay norms.
- Oversee position-planning system to include accurate job descriptions, job analysis, accountabilities, and task analysis.
- Manage wage and salary administration, including base salary, incentive plans, and other non-cash programs based on company guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and local regulations and OSJL standards.
- Drive high performance culture by providing guidance, direction, and leadership on all Human Resource activities.
- Assess, develop, and facilitate training sessions on HR topics, new hire onboarding, employee development, diversity and inclusion, and other compliance and legally required training.
- Participate in college and professional recruiting, as needed.
- Manage associate performance, write performance reviews, and provide coaching and feedback. As needed, delegate work and follow up with team members to confirm timely completion of tasks.
- Assist with hiring, coaching, and disciplinary actions for team members as well as train new team members and act as a mentor to develop new teammates.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
- 8 or more years progressive experience in Human Resources/ Employee Relations. Human Resource experience must include HR Generalist, operational experience, and change leadership and cultural development focus.
- 3 or more years of previous experience working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment is required.
- 4 or more years of supervisory experience is required.
- Excellent written and oral communication in both English and Spanish.
- Knowledge of basic HR law is required.
- Knowledge of HR applications is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience partnering with business partners to solve business/operational issues through the application of progressive people systems practices.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google platform (i.e., Sites, Slides, Drive, Docs, Sheets).

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Works primarily in a climate controlled environment with minimal safety and health hazard
potential.
- Works in an office environment remaining stationary at a desk, table, or computer workstation for extended periods of time. Frequently uses near vision for reading and computer tasks.
