Senior IT Project Manager-Remote

Job Summary:

Senior IT Project Managers work independently managing projects with scope inclusive of developing individual applications or application systems, infrastructure/mobilization projects. Builds, supervises and coordinates activities of the project team to assure the project meets the project sponsor and stakeholder expectations. The senior project manager plans, executes, and delivers all projects on time, in budget, and within scope in accordance with business priorities. Throughout the lifecycle of each project, the project manager tracks project status and manages project teams to mitigate issues and risks. May be the company’s expert on specific delivery methodologies and/or technologies and provide recommendations within the company, individual BUs and departments. Provide oversight and direction to several projects concurrently.

What you will do:

  • Responsible for the delivery and management of multiple medium-sized IT projects (annual project(s) portfolio size up to $5M) running concurrently

  • Develops the project approval documentation, integrated project plan, resource plan, contingency plan, and related project management artifacts

  • Works with project team to develop estimates, schedules and work plans to ensure timely completion of a project or working group within a project

  • Assigns responsibilities and coordinates the activities of the team, including vendors
    and contractors

  • Prepare financial forecasts and provide on-going reconciliation of resources and other related project expenditures

  • Directs the formation, execution and closeout of the assigned project so it meets project specifications and requirements and is delivered within budget and schedule

  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to develop business requirements and user stories

  • Partner with business sponsors to define success metrics and criteria

  • Facilitate all operational checkpoint activities throughout the lifecycle of projects

  • Assess and resolve all high priority project risks as they are encountered

  • Ensure all projects adhere to project methodology compliance standards set by the company

  • Continually update relevant business stakeholder of project status and periodically publish project status reports

  • Serves as a subject matter expert to regularly brief key stakeholders on different aspects of assigned initiatives

  • Represents the project in various project governance and inter-departmental forums

  • Defines and tracks project milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on an overall integrated delivery plan

  • Ensures all projects meet success parameters and ROI targets stated in business case

  • Mentors team members to develop technical and project skills; provides input for performance assessments and evaluations to Project Manager or functional manager

  • Demonstrates knowledge in Parsons business acumen and process and associated
    industry technologies

  • Selects vendors and contractors; develops RFP and Statement of Work, manages the integration of vendor tasks; tracks and reviews vendor deliverables

  • May serve as subject matter expert on delivery methodologies and/or specific technologies

  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate

What we need form you:

  • 4-year degree in Business or Computer Science (or related curriculum) and 10-12 years of relevant IT experience and at least 5-7 years of progressive experience in project management.

  • Experience in business analysis, Agile framework using Scrum, Integration, and cloud computing skills/experience desired or an equivalent combination of work experience and education.

  • Ability to travel up to 20%.

  • Ability to articulate project objectives and relationship with organizational goals

  • General understanding of financial management and knowledge of financial statements including Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow

  • Knowledge of current and emerging IT technologies and processes; ability to collaborate during ideation sessions of how those technologies and processes can be implemented effectively in a large business environment

  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction or oversight

  • Actively collaborates with others to evaluate and promote innovative ideas and can articulate the associated opportunities and risks to the organization

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate at all levels within Parsons and delivery partners with clarity and precision

  • A thorough understanding of applicable project software applications and technology is required

  • Ability to direct individual team members to provide individual development or to improve the person’s job performance and effectiveness on the team

Salary Range:

$92,200.00 - $161,400.00
