Job description

Description: We are seeking a dependable, organized, and diligent Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairs and performing preventive maintenance relative to the mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing systems in the hotel.

General Responsibilities:

  • Perform, administer and document preventative maintenance programs within assigned hotel(s) to meet/exceed established standards
  • Adherence to all Colwen and brand standards
  • Work with supervisor to identify and complete all technical projects within hotel
  • Respond in a timely fashion to work order
  • Perform electrical, plumbing and carpentry projects
  • Assist in HVAC unit repairs
  • Perform Guest Room maintenance including: Caulking, tile repair, painting, plumbing etc.)
  • Determine need for contract/repair services
  • Complete overall building maintenance
  • Ensure pool/spa maintenance (Certified Pool Operator CPO)
  • Follow OSHA guidelines to ensure safe working environment (lock out- Tag out, maintain SDS sheets etc.)
  • Care for common areas and parking lots
  • Assist with Houseperson / Shuttle Driver duties as needed
  • Maintain building exterior not serviced by contractor (e.g. snow removal, lawn care, painting)
  • Respond timely to all work orders
  • Maintain and manage a work order system for assigned hotel(s)
  • Perform other related duties as needed

Requirements:

  • 2 years maintenance experience (hotel preferred)
  • Certified Pool Operator Preferred (CPO)
  • Ability to follow instruction from supervisors/managers
  • Ability to hand tools and power tools
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Working knowledge of kitchen equipment /refrigeration
  • Working knowledge of fire protection and life safety systems
  • Familiar with common computer software programs(e.g. Microsoft office)
  • Proficient in English language
  • Ability to learn new computer software programs and operate property management systems
