About the Senior Manager, Specialty Pharmacy Services:

The Senior Manager, Specialty Pharmacy Services will support Avalon’s Specialty Pharmacy Management product, which reduces inappropriate specialty drug utilization by identifying and acting on claims that are not adherent to health plan policy and FDA indications. The Senior Manager, Specialty Pharmacy Services will help with three main efforts: developing/enhancing the product capabilities, supporting sales as a product and clinical expert, and supporting client implementation and operations. The ideal candidate is business-minded, solution-oriented, knowledgeable about health plan operations, and committed to improving healthcare quality and affordability.

Senior Manager, Specialty Pharmacy Services - Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Reporting to the VP, Product, the Principal Advisor, Specialty Pharmacy Services will:

• Assist with the evaluation of new product opportunities and enhancements.

• Review published policies, FDA indications, and other sources to derive rules for adherence that can be automated.

• Support the sales team as a technical and clinical subject matter expert.

• Support implementation and operational efforts, including policy review and consultation, analytics and report development, provider education, rule configuration, and other initiatives to address inappropriate utilization

Senior Manager, Specialty Pharmacy Services - Qualifications:

• Minimum six (6) years of professional work experience in some combination of pharmacy management and health plan operations

• Minimum Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm)

• Direct experience in specialty pharmacy, and preferably medical specialty pharmacy

• Experience with healthcare data analytics

• Knowledge of and experience with diagnostic and procedural coding practices

• Experience with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and industry standard billing and utilization guidelines.

Senior Manager, Specialty Pharmacy Services - Qualifications Preferred:

• Previous experience at a start-up or early-stage company is preferred.
