Position Summary
The Senior Brand Merchandise Planner serves as a critical liaison between Sephora’s planning teams (USA, CAN, and Sephora @ Kohls) and Central Sales, Forecasting, Operations, and Finance functions. The incumbent is expected to build Open to Buy (OTB) plans, perform various analyses and provide findings and recommendations that will help maximize wholesale shipments while driving the enhanced profitability of the business. This employee must work collaboratively with the customers to analyze Retail Sales trends, Stock levels, Inventory turns, Profitability, and other KPIs at a detailed level while providing input, and recommendations regarding product placement, merchandise assortments, sales opportunities, and business risk.
Primary Responsibilities
- Works with the Sephora Inventory teams to build Pre-season & In-season Open to Buy (OTB) plans incl. Sales, Inventory, Markdowns, Margin projections, as well as Promotions
- Partner with Sephora Planning, Merchants, Product Development & Central team in Paris to launch newness across all markets in North America
- Be the key point of contact for Sephora North America and facilitate all operational matters with the Central team in Paris
- Translates OTB plan into the monthly forecast and annual budget, and works closely with the Sales team on all operational matters to deliver financial targets
- Manages inventory receipts flow and allocations at the SKU level by market/region
- Manages inventory flow of Basic Replenishment styles, quantity splits between North American customers, mode of transportation changes, ensures order quantities reach MOQ, etc.
- Works closely with the customers and Central team to maintain an acceptable week of supply of Inventory while meeting fill rate and in-stock targets set by customers
- Participates in customer meetings and market appointments as required
- Completes Ad hoc requests, projects, and presentations
- Presents and interprets Results/Recommendations to the team
- Manages 1 direct report supporting Sephora @ Kohls

- 5+ years of Planning experience, with a retailer or brand
- Excellent technical skills – MS Office (specifically Excel)
- Strong numbers aptitude; able to compile statistical reports
- Problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills; able to handle multiple priorities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

The target annual base salary range for this position is $115,500 - $129,000.The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job. Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses.
