*This position is hybrid remote. Team member will be in the Franklin, TN office 2-3 days per week, with the remaining days at home.

The Senior Payroll Processor performs the full cycle of payroll processing for the Loews Hotels & Co. hotels and executive payrolls in accordance with company policies and procedures. The position requires a high level of payroll knowledge including deferred compensation, 401K and multi state multi-jurisdictional payroll. This Senior Payroll Processor is a results-driven professional who not only delivers, but inspires others on the payroll team to also deliver, our brand promise of extraordinary customer service to our hotels and to our team members. The Senior Payroll Processor reports to the Senior Payroll Manager.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Compiles and processes payroll data for company executives and management payroll and other properties as assigned
- Process and reports non-qualified deferred compensation in adherence with plan documentation
- Completes regular audit of deductions and resolves any deductions in arrears
- Researches and resolves 401k deferral and loan issues and delinquencies
- Ensures compliance with payroll internal controls
- Reviews wages computed and corrects errors to ensure accuracy of payroll
- Reviews transmission of data files and corrects and documents any discrepancies
- Records changes affecting net wages, for example exemptions, insurance coverage, and loan payments for each employee to update master payroll records
- Records data concerning transfer of employees between properties and departments, to ensure continuity of benefits, deductions and accruals
- Assists accounting with researching payroll outstanding variances and reconciling items
- Assists Senior Payroll Manager in completing complex tasks and research
- Prepares and files periodic reports of earnings, taxes, and deductions
- Maintains records of garnishments, leave pay, and non-taxable wages
- Prepares and issues paychecks and remits that are outside of the scope of regular processing
- Provides phone/email support to employees regarding inquiries and discrepancies
- Any additional duties as assigned by the Senior Payroll Manager
- Regular attendance in conformance with standards
- May be required to work varying schedules to reflect business needs of the BSC
- Required to attend all training sessions and meetings
Qualifications
Required:
- Ability to work cooperatively with others
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to read, write and speak English effectively
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally
- Ability to work effectively, maintain composure and make decisions in stressful situations
- Ability to organize workload, adapt quickly to change, and deliver under the pressure of deadlines
- Ability to perform both standard and intermediate spreadsheet functions using Microsoft Excel
- Proficiency in windows-based computer programs to include e-mail, internet and word processing applications
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn new computer applications
- General knowledge of mathematics and accounting principles
Preferred:
- Experience in Workday or other payroll processing system
- Experience in Unifocus Time and Attendance or Other time and attendance systems.
- Knowledge of non-qualified plans (deferred compensation)
- Knowledge of multi-state payroll, multi jurisdiction tax and implications
- Knowledge of 401K processing and funding as it relates to payroll processing
- Knowledge of wage withholding orders and garnishments/levies
Education:
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in General Business Administration, Human Resources or Accounting preferred
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of payroll experience with highly-compensated employees and prior experience as a Payroll I and Payroll II Processor
