GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
You will oversee the execution and production aspects of Live Art’s 40-50 annual events You will be responsible for leading employees and contractors to produce high quality productions. You will bring the artists’ vision to life while ensuring the safety of the audiences and collections within an established production budget.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

Oversee all aspects of the artistic and production process for Live Arts projects from planning to execution

Manage season calendar, artistic planning, and production budgeting in collaboration with the Department General Manager and Senior Administrator

Lead broadcast productions, stream performances, and oversee post-production processes

Assess feasibility and logistical needs of events from earliest stage of development; review artist tech riders and evaluate feasibility and costs

Oversee production schedules and other relevant production information submit post-performance Production Report to all stakeholders

Create, review, and oversee planning, stage plots, lighting plots, sound design, audio/video integration and video design plans

Coordinate with artists and their teams to ensure that all compliance needs, and reasonable requests are accommodated

Source, supervise and train the Live Arts production staff and technical crews

Act as liaison between Live Arts and other Museum departments, ensuring collaboration, buy-in, and ongoing communications

Arrange and lead site visits and production meetings with artists

Ensure that all artists, contractors, and plans adhere to institutional, industry, union, and local regulations

Education & Experience:
-
B.A.
-
Minimum of ten years of live music, theater, or related performing arts
-
Prior experience overseeing projects that require complex video projection design and multicamera video capture

Familiarity with orchestral and ensemble set-ups including classical, jazz, Indian Classical and other world music genres

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite skills, including Excel
COMPENSATION RANGE:

Pay Range: $130K - $150K/year

Location Requirements
At time of employment, employees are expected to be located within commuting distance of the Museum. “Commuting distance” means that they are located in one of following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, or Pennsylvania (the “Tri-state and PA” areas), and be able to commute to and from the Museum in a single day.
