To prevent climate catastrophe, we need to reduce our emissions and remove billions of tons of CO2 already in the atmosphere. At Verdox, we aim to do just that. We are racing against the clock to develop a carbon dioxide removal solution that we can deploy on a global scale. Our proprietary technology removes CO2 directly from the atmosphere and exhaust gas streams. It requires up to 70% less energy than today’s systems, is modular, and can run entirely on renewable electricity.

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical design of complex components and systems, including 3D models, component and assembly drawings

Conduct design reviews, FMEA and other product development best practices

Design, build and test prototype systems, support design verification activities

Manage product and component requirements, ensure quality of incoming materials

Translate prototype designs into scalable solutions achieving performance & cost targets

Develop and implement large scale embodiments of Verdox technologies

Lead hardware development efforts

Collaborate with Technology Development and other internal and external stakeholders

Work with Supply Chain to identify and develop new suppliers

Create Verdox SOPs related to product design and development

Support field installations of Verdox products

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

Educational background
BS in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline, MS preferred Work Experience

At least 5 years of hands-on experience developing complex electromechanical products or systems required

Experience working in an ISO regulated environment strongly preferred

Job Skills, Experience, and Abilities

Proficiency with Solidworks, GD&T, ASME Y14.5 preferred

High level of hands-on experience building and testing complex systems required, preferably within a structured phase-gate process

Ability to brainstorm and communicate complex technical designs to diverse audiences

Familiarity with regulatory requirements and certification processes

Demonstrated project management experience working with interdisciplinary teams

Ability to thrive in a fast paced, highly collaborative & rapidly evolving startup environment

Experience with gas or liquid processing systems a plus

Willingness to contribute in areas outside of core competencies to meet company needs

Physical requirements/Work environment

60% Shop-floor and laboratory work environment, 40% office environment

Ability to lift components weighing up to 35 lbs. is required

May be required to sit or stand for prolonged periods, as needed

Travel Required
Up to 10-20% possible, including domestic and international sites
