We are looking for an experienced senior team leader able to collaborate with clients and project teams throughout the project and development management processes and encourage project teams to work collaboratively and resolve complex decisions to ensure the project is completed successfully. Experience working in or with cultural facilities such as museums, visitor centers, preforming arts centers and theaters is desired. Experience in large complex building programs over $100M in construction cost and over $200M in overall total project costs.
You will manage relationships with key stakeholders to identify opportunities for improved efficiencies and collaboration across projects and programs to ensure client satisfaction. A perfect candidate has experience with reporting to Museum Directors and Planning office as well as reporting to various Board Committees and Board of Directors. You will provide guidance and oversight from planning through design phases and have experience in Construction Manager selection and GMP development. Experience in working with world class architects and ability to oversee entitlement process in large urban area preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepares and presents materials and reports for Board of Trustees and Board Committees; prepares
  • reports for senior management as necessary
  • Assume project and/or construction management role on projects as the client’s advisor.
  • Perform capital planning and financial reporting for programs and projects.
  • Manage A/E selection, construction bidding, negotiations and contract administration.
  • Effectively communicate with multiple stakeholders outside of project team.
  • Develop and oversee project/program scope, budgets and schedules.
  • Evaluate programs and perform cost/benefit analysis to determine overall cost savings and
  • effectiveness if implemented.
  • Develop and evaluate contracting and procurement methods based on program specifics.
  • Develop and oversee program management systems and reports.
  • Perform fiscal management and program level financial reporting to both internal and external
  • offices/agencies.
  • Collect, draft, develop and disseminate lessons learned to appropriate staff.
  • Provide training and guidance to project staff.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management or related field
  • 15 years of experience in a lead role
  • Preferred qualifications include PE license, PMP, CCM and/or AIA certification
  • Experience with design and/or construction contracts
  • Experience in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified projects
  • Experience in Formal Construction Partnering

  • Ability to manage multiple multi-phase projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills, documentation and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong focus on health, safety and quality
