Title: Senior Recruiting Manager

Type: Full Time, Exempt

Location: Falls Church, VA—remote flexibility

Reports to: Director of Recruiting


Muller is a full-service sustainable civil construction company that works throughout the DC Metro region specializing in a broad range of services. With more than 15 years in the industry, Muller is hiring a skilled Recruiting Manager to join their DMV operations.

As a successful business, the company overhead needs continue to grow. The ideal candidate will have at minimum 3 years of full cycle recruiting experience and strong leadership skills. The Recruiting Manager will work directly with the Director of Recruiting to lead a Talent Acquisition team and recruiters, support and consult on recruiting activities to identify, and attract, and hire top talent to the organization.

The manager will also partner directly with key decision makers and hiring managers to execute and measure strategies aligned with short-and long-term talent goals. This will be a 75/25 model where approximately 25% of their time will be managing the team processes, and department development, and the other 75% will be focused on requisition goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Proven ability to successfully lead a recruiting team to identify, manage, and engage with exceptional candidates in high growth environments
  • Full life cycle recruiting to include sourcing through offer stage
  • Leverage data, technical knowledge, and industry trends to build and execute on creative closing strategies
  • Proven track record of continuous improvement through problem-solving, producing solutions, and critical thinking
  • Effective interpersonal skills to connect with a wide variety of audiences and all levels of an organization, including C-level.
  • Superior attention to detail, with strong multi-tasking and organization skills
  • Strong sense of urgency, with proven ability to act swiftly under pressure and adapt to changing priorities and processes
  • Experience managing applicant tracking systems, preferably Greenhouse or similar tools
  • Develops processes and training including sourcing, applicant flow, screening, interviewing, background checks, references and selection.
  • Evaluates tools and makes recommendations to improve the overall recruiting strategy and branding, and makes continuous improvements and recommendations for new and creative recruiting ideas and initiatives
  • Tracks, observes and analyzes recruiting performance and metrics to drive continuous process improvement and gain stronger recruitment decisions
  • Develops and cultivates relationships with various levels of management, candidates and external recruiting sources
  • Ensures compliance with federal and state guidelines and company policies as relates to recruiting processes
  • Assists Director, Talent Acquisition with a strategic recruitment plan and special projects

Required Qualifications:

  • Understands recruiting in industries (civil construction, civil engineering, land development, architecture)
  • 4+ years of people leadership experience
  • 3+ years experience sourcing with LinkedIn and other email marketing & CRM tools
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Ability to work with different personality types
  • Working experience using and managing Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
  • Computer literate skills
  • Experience sourcing for passive candidates through multiple channels
  • Excellent task management and leadership skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a managerial role and 5 to 8 years of increasing responsibility within recruiting department.
