Airosmith Development is seeking a Senior Right of Way Agent to join a fast growing team. This position is responsible for all land related legal issues, including transfers of titles and deeds, construction, mortgage concerns, and zoning. Prepares resolutions and other legal forms related to land acquisitions. Researches, negotiates, and elects to purchase short- and long-term lease of land agreements and right of way for construction.

Responsibilities, include but are not limited to:

  • Ability to operate and manage Real Estate activities independently and exercise good judgment.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of Real Estate requirements of the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) as these requirements relate to NYPA’s vegetation management plan, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), the Eminent Domain Procedure Law (EDPL) and NYS Regulations as they pertain to NYPA Real Property assets.
  • Ability to establish working relationships with counterparts at other utility companies and government offices.
  • Expert user of Geographic Information System (GIS).
  • Ability to effectively communicate clearly and persuasively.
  • Ability to manage all responsibilities independently whether negotiating for real property rights, protecting rights previously acquired or coordinating activities associated with maintaining transmission lines, or exercising rights to operate, maintain, repair, rebuild power projects, etc.
  • Typical deliverables per project assigned.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years’ Senior Right of Way Agent experience.
  • A valid state driver's license.
  • Must be able to multitask, driven/self-starter skill set with the “get it done” approach.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness, persistence to overcome obstacles, good problem-solving skills, and ability to complete work in a timely manner.
  • Communicate or resolve issues effectively.
  • Proficient with MS Office 365 Suite.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
