We are a privately held trucking and logistics company seeking to fill the role of Staff Accountant. This ideal candidate is a self-motivated, excel proficient, organized individual with excellent communication and analytical skills.

Job Description:

• Reviews and processes freight payables to ensure timely payment to our carriers.
• Ability to answer the phone and assist with A/P inquiries in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Preparing reports and projections for upper management, as well as responding to inquiries related to these reports.
• Identifying trends in financial performance and providing recommendations for improvement
• Coordinating with other members of the accounting/finance team to review financial information and forecasts
• Providing financial models and forecasting
• Learning the responsibilities of all team members to serve as a backup when needed
• Preparing account reconciliations and investigating variances
• Maintaining general ledger accounts and transaction entry to Great Plains ERP
• Providing input on improvements for the close process and other daily accounting/finance processes
• Other responsibilities as assigned

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables & V lookups)
• Experience with Microsoft Great Plains or similar ERP system preferred
• Must have the ability to work in a Team environment
• Able to prioritize and manage time efficiently
