The Senior Youth Service Director will be the leader of DREAM Philly’s program staff team, who are doing work to address the opportunity gap through mentoring and out of school time activities in the greater Philadelphia area. The Senior Youth Service Director will help to ensure alignment, support, and cohesion across program sites in the greater Philadelphia area. They will also provide strategic vision, leadership and direction for the region’s expansion, increasing the region’s reach from 2 sites to 20 sites over a 3 year span.

Objectives of the Senior Youth Service Director:
- You will lead the expansion of the Philly region in growing from 2 active sites to 20 active sites over the span of 3 years.
- This expansion includes building relationships with housing partners, establishing DREAM as a volunteer organization among college campuses in the area, and building relationships in communities to enroll youth to participate in the program.
- You will collaborate on and help lead the strategic onboarding of volunteers, AmeriCorps members, DREAM families, and other stakeholders in the region.
- You will oversee the use of Village Mentoring Model among volunteer mentor groups and ensure cohesive execution of the model by all mentor groups.
- You will lead and oversee the execution of summer programs at all sites in Philadelphia.
- You will directly support and oversee compliance in enrollment of mentees and mentors, using DREAM systems of data management and background checking.
The Experience of the Senior Youth Service Director:
- Candidates should be comfortable in an environment of rapid change, including building and sustaining new partnerships, hiring and supporting a growing staff team, navigating new community stakeholders, recruiting volunteers, consistently delivering year-round programming, and enrolling new families and youth.
- You will be a part of our All-DREAM Program Staff team, and will meet virtually with this team on a regular basis.
- You will be supervising 3 Youth Service Managers in leading and overseeing programs across the region. This team will grow in the summertime with an increase of 1 Summer Program Manager per 2 sites.
- You will also be supporting the supervision of a staff of AmeriCorps members, which fluctuates throughout the year in support of our various programs (Village Mentoring, After School Enrichment, Summer Enrichment).
- You will regularly coordinate and collaborate with staff and stakeholders across the organization, in-person and virtually.
Preferred qualifications/experience:
- 3+ years of experience leading a staff of managers, employees, service members and/or volunteers.
- Experience working or living in a diverse and inclusive environment with elevated, demonstrated awareness of issues of social equity and social and racial justice.
- Demonstrated practice or education serving diverse communities or populations of people of color in an equitable manner and a manner that is respectful and aware of the community's experience.
- Experience supervising and leading a strategic visioning and execution process.
- Demonstrated skills in communication and facilitation with and among teams.
- Experience supervising and maintaining an organizational property, office, and/or program space.
- Computer proficiency: comfort with Microsoft Office apps, Google's GSuite and email communication; Salesforce CRM experience; accounting software experience.
- Familiarity with AmeriCorps grant requirements and mentoring programs requirements as expressed by CNCS and state and local regulations, respectively.
- Demonstrated ability to manage time and set priorities while giving consideration to staff, the organization, and the self.
- Creativity, energy, and an entrepreneurial spirit.

- Comfortable working in an outdoor environment in all seasons.
Type of work/expected commitment:
This is a full time, salaried, overtime exempt position. The position will average 35-45 hours per week with regular evenings and occasional weekend events over the course of the year. Participation and leadership at regular multi-day retreats is required (typically one each quarter).
Compensation:
- $50,000-$55,000, commensurate with experience.

Work environment: This position operates in multiple spaces. The spaces included will often be an indoor environment, in both shared and remote workspaces. You will often travel to other regions, be present on-site with children, families, and volunteers, within the housing communities we serve, or on campus at the colleges we are partnered with. This role routinely uses computers, phones, and a variety of other softwares (design, databases, organization) for communications, systems, and program accountability.

- This position requires comfort working in outdoor environments, regardless of the weather. This position can be active and frequently requires standing, walking, and bending.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee/member is regularly required to communicate with individuals who talk and hear.
- The employee/member may occasionally lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee/member is regularly required to observe and comprehend using vision abilities that include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Travel: Travel includes local travel during the work hours described. Out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be occasionally expected.
