SERVICE ASSISTANT
SUMMARY
Performs various maintenance duties necessary to maintain and enhance the value of the community. Handles service requests for repairs and improvements of vacant apartments to a market-ready status. Works as a team participant along with the maintenance staff to ensure the community meets the quality maintenance standards set by the Company.
JOB DUTIES
- Assists in “make ready process” completing repairs, cleaning, and improvements necessary.
- Responds to resident service requests and concerns quickly providing excellent customer service with every interaction.
- May perform on-call emergency service as needed and determined by the Service Manager.
- Reports any maintenance concerns for repairs on vacant models, clubhouse, and/or common areas to the Service Manager.
- Moves heavy objects as requested and assists in keeping grounds and common areas clean and free of trash/debris.
- Assists the Service Manager on special maintenance projects, i.e., preventive maintenance of building components and/or mechanicals.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
- Attends and participates in training as required.
- Attends and assists in setting up and/or tearing down resident functions and activities.
- Drives motorized vehicles on or off property for company business purposes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Trade school and/or military training is a plus.
- One to three years of hands-on general maintenance experience including but not limited to painting, basic carpentry, cleaning, and maintenance repairs.
- Knowledge of OSHA Guidelines.
- EPA certifiable status is preferred.
- Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check, drug screen, and have a valid Driver’s License with no restrictions.
