We're looking for:

Summer House on Music Lane is looking for a Service Assistant who will exceed the expectations of all guests in a multitude of tasks that include assist food service employees in delivering food to tables, maintain cleanliness and attend to needs behind the bar, clean tables, carry dirty dishes, replace soiled table linens; setting tables; replenish supply of clean linens, silverware, glassware, and dishes; and serve water, appetizers and coffee to patrons.

The person having this position must have good communication skills, the ability to resolve conflict and a thorough understanding of Bunkhouse policies. All Bunkhouse employees are expected to greet all guests in close proximity and make each feel important by providing a genuine welcome. Furthermore, Servers must develop and maintain the company’s culture, values, and reputation in the public eye, and with all staff, guests, vendors, and partners.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Six (6) months related experience in hospitality or service industry
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) of the workplace
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of co-workers and sister property staff
• Ability to understand other computer programs (i.e. Property Management System and Point of Sale)
• Ability to apply concepts of math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Job Requirements:

• Adhere to dress code policies during shift
• Perform serving, cleaning, and stocking duties in order to facilitate customer service
• Ensure immediate response is given to any and all guest comments and concerns and inform immediate supervisor of concerns and assist implementing corrective measure when necessary
• Maintain adequate supplies of items such as clean linens, silverware, glassware, dishes, and trays
• Ensure sure that beverage and ice dispensers, cabinets, serving areas are stocked
• Replenish supplies of food and equipment at service bars/satellite service stations
• Stock refrigerating units with wines and bottled beer, and replace empty beer keg
• Set tables with clean linens, condiments, and other supplies
• Scrape and stack dirty dishes, and carry dishes and other tableware to kitchens for cleaning
• Clean tables, counters, shelves, walls, furniture, and equipment in food service areas and other areas of restaurants, and mop and vacuum floors
• Wash glasses and other serving equipment at bars
• Clean up spilled food, drink and broken dishes, and remove empty bottles and trash
• Serve ice water, coffee, and standard appetizers (i.e. bread/butter or chips/salsa) to patrons
• Ensure open lines of communication with all departments and upper management via email, logbooks, meetings, etc., to ensure all needs of the hotel are met
• Maintain a high level of cleanliness and safety in the work area
• Ensure that all equipment is maintained in good, safe working condition
• Maintain an increased awareness of safety issues throughout the property
• Keep abreast of safety and emergency procedures and OSHA requirements
• Attend relevant meetings
• Adhere to all standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, training material, memos and verbal instruction

Based upon fluctuating demands of the operation and to exceed customer expectations, it may be necessary to perform a multitude of different functions not specifically related to this position. This person may be expected to perform other tasks and duties as needed or as directed. Furthermore, employee responsibilities and job descriptions are subject to review and revision.

Working Conditions/Environment:

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, typical of a hotel/restaurant/office setting.
• The person in this position may have to lift/carry up to fifty (50) pounds on a daily basis; anything over fifty (50) pounds is considered a minimum two (2) person lift.
• The person having this position may have to remain stationary for one (1) hour, move about/traverse property spaces, push, kneel, bend, balance, squat, reach and stretch for up to eight (8) hours per day.
