Under the supervision of the 21st Century Community Learning Center (21st CCLC) Program Manager, the Service Coordinator is expected to monitor and provide technical assistance to federally funded 21st 21st CCLC After School programs statewide. The position involves utilizing research-based staff development and evaluation tools, strategies, and resources to monitor and provide on-site observations, professional development and coaching to programs and staff. This position will support the efforts of CREC and the Division of CREC Magnet Schools to fulfill its mission as a diverse social justice organization, as well as to support 21st CCLC after school programs and the students and families that they serve throughout CT.
Essential Job Functions
Serve as a Quality Advisor for 30-40 after school programs by providing technical assistance and support through desk reviews and on-site monitoring & observations.
Work collaboratively with the CT State Department of Education, school districts, and community agencies to improve after school programming.
Work as part of a team to successfully plan, organize, and implement professional development training based on identified needs and per state and federal grant guidelines.
Assist families, schools, and community members to develop strong partnerships and enhance communication for student success through family engagement practice.
Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills
Expertise and knowledge of after school programming, CT public schools, and family engagement practice.
Knowledge of best practices in educational and youth development programming.
Excellent oral/written communication skills.
Ability to prepare comprehensive reports and deliver information effectively in presentations and/or workshops.
Experience designing and leading professional development that supports after school programs.
Ability to facilitate adult learning.
Familiarity with MS-Office suite of products and Google Docs.
Qualifications
BS/BA in related field preferred.
Two to Four years of experience managing, coordinating, supporting and/or evaluating after school programs.
Experience designing and/or facilitating professional development preferred.
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
Experience working in an urban environment.
Highly flexible and adaptive work style, with the ability to prioritize among competing demands.
Travel Requirements and Working Conditions:
Essential job functions require traveling to programs 1-2 days per week on average during the school year, and working flexible hours based on program schedules (occasionally hours may extend beyond 5:00 P.M.).
Please note that this is a 10 month position, September through June, for a two year contract period ending June 30, 2024. Anticipated Start: October 2022
