Position Objective
The Service Technician will diagnose, and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems found on equipment within our industry. Will provide effective communication to management, company co-workers, and customers.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide prompt and courteous service: Both on the phone and in person.
- Demonstrate friendliness and proper etiquette with every customer and CPS staff.
- Always maintain professionalism with ALL customers.
- Practice and always promote teamwork.
- Set a good example of attitude and performance.
- Ensure proper follow-through on all directives and maintain a good flow of communication with all personnel.
- Monitor workplace safety conditions and the reporting of all workplace accidents that occur within your department.
- Service Technician must be fully aware of all Quality Standards, making sure that all performed repairs are done efficiently and correctly.
- Service technician must ensure full ownership of quality within every task performed and ensure that his/her work is free of defects.
- Must have excellent organizational skills and be able to manage several projects simultaneously and in such a way that all projects are completed within the defined scope, quality, time, and cost constraints of assigned job duties.
- Educating the customers and operators about the correct use and upkeep of their products.
- Explaining complex installation, diagnostic and repair issues in a way that’s accessible to a nontechnical audience.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the proper usage of hand tools, power tools, multi-meters, and diagnostic equipment.
- Adhere to all company policies and safety regulations.
- Keep work area clean and neat both in the facility and when out in the field.
Essential Skills and Abilities
- Ability to effectively read and write instructions provided in English
- Strong mechanical and electrical skills
- Ability to read and comprehend parts diagrams and electric schematics
- Provide extreme attention to detail
- Ability to work together with other technicians
- Provide excellent customer service
- Demonstrate time management, problem solving, and organizational skills
Education
- High School diploma or GED is required
Work Experience
- Minimum of 2 years in a relatable field. Construction equipment service, automotive, or rental experience is preferred.
Physical Demands
- Continuous standing, grasping, and carrying
- Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- Frequent walking, bending, squatting, reaching, twisting, and lifting for extended periods of time
- Visual activity requirements include color and depth perception
- Accessing data in various forms including cloud-based software, network systems and personal computers
- Must comply with jobsite personal protective equipment requirements
Working Conditions
- Exposure to elements; combination of construction, warehouse, retail, and office jobsites
- Exposure to moving equipment
- Occasional exposure to loud noise
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
