SET-UP TECHNICIAN - 1st Shift

Responsibilities Include:

  • Perform press set-up and start-up;
  • Barrel cleaning and set-up;
  • Cold Deck cleaning and set-up;
  • Trouble-shooting to improve product quality;
  • Molding of sample and qualification jobs;
  • Assist Engineers with process improvement and the associated documentation;
  • Assist Engineers with writing processes;
  • Follow manufacturing procedures which include documentation of product traceability;
  • Identify and initiate enhancements to equipment, tooling, and processes;
  • Efficiency and productivity improvements;
  • Reduction of mold damage;
  • Provide training to production and set-up personnel on new and/or existing set-ups, molding processes, and inspection;
  • Support Research & Development projects;
  • Back-up for Milling and mixing materials;
  • Back-up for production team leads;
  • Other duties as assigned and/or requested/required.

Industry Experience (or will training):

  • Demonstrates increasing levels of responsibility within a silicone molding operation;
  • Knowledge of medical component manufacturing preferred;
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Team player;
  • Good written and verbal communication skills;
  • Good problem-solving skills, with ability to multi-task and plan activities for multiple projects;
  • Ability to schedule, coordinate and keep manufacturing projects and documentation up-to-date and on-track;
  • Proficient and experienced in computer technology including MS Office, Word and Excel;
  • Knowledge and training to ISO 13485 (current), Medical Devices QM System;
  • Knowledge and training to ISO 14971 (current), Risk Management.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Must be able to lift or shift up to 75 pounds on an infrequent basis;
  • Position requires good corrected vision, stooping, kneeling, reaching, lifting and the ability to work in a limited amount of space within a clean-room environment.
