Sheetmetal Technician

Job Description

This position requires a basic knowledge of aircraft structures, fastening systems, procedures, and techniques. Will work closely with Lead Technicians to organize manpower and set priorities for involved projects. Must be competent at working from drawings, blueprints, and written instructions. Job duties will vary each day and are designated by the Team Leader in charge of the project. May be required to work independently or lead small projects.#ZR

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Attendance.

• Perform involved, extensive, and precise sheet metal functions on the airframe and associated components.
• Maintain quality control on all aspects of assigned projects.
• Supervise, instruct and train assigned crew members.
• Coordinate with other crews working on aircraft to minimize interference and ensure smooth workflow.
• Provide input to and cooperate with Engineering and Quality Assurance in development and documentation of modifications and repairs.
• Address minor disciplinary issues and problem resolutions.
• Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Initiative

• Self-motivated and able to maintain a rapid pace.
• Able to organize and process work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to lead and provide incentives to other team members.
• Ability to think ahead and anticipate problems.

Responsibility

• Must perform all work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines.
• Must follow verbal and written instructions from assigned Team Leader.
• Follow all company and safety rules during the performance of duties.
• Maintain customer oriented work habits.
• Consistently uphold quality standards and adhere to sheet metal crew procedures and policies.
• Direct the workflow of projects to ensure continuity, quality, and efficient use of time and materials.

Physical Requirements

• Able to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Routine walking, bending and squatting or sitting.
• Routing or repetitive physical motion with arms and hands.
