Under the direction of the Senior Director of Children & Families the Shelter Operations Manager is responsible for service delivery and operations of the shelter program, which includes providing oversight of staff and general operations at a Hope Shelter site.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology or experience in related field required
  • 3+ years of experience in the field of domestic/sexual violence, crisis intervention, or shelter setting
  • Prior experience working programs that serve victims of domestic violence strongly desired
  • Experience working in a community/direct service setting environment desired
  • Experience working in a Social Service environment is a plus
  • 40-hour Domestic Violence training certificate required
  • Bilingual, English/Spanish preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to manage program and staff
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Knowledge of safety issues when working with at-risk clients
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and confidentiality of information
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills; proven ability to communicate with diverse audiences
  • Ability to work under pressure; need to be flexible and a willingness to work some evenings and weekends as program demands
  • Culturally sensitive and able to work with a multicultural client/customer population
  • Ability to work as part of a team and maintain professional boundaries
  • Must be able to pass criminal background check (Live Scan fingerprinting) prior to beginning employment

Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Assurance of adequate staff schedules and call out coverage
  • Coordination and preparation of monthly emergency shelter statistical reports, as required
  • Oversee, implement, and coordinate delivery of emergency shelter grants
  • Monitor and audit shelter documentation, along with QA Specialist, to ensure quality and completeness
  • Assist in the monitoring of all aspects of the shelter program such as safety, client daily routine, house guidelines, compliance to case plans
  • Manage daily operation of shelter, which may include handling and monitoring of petty cash, , food voucher accounts, supply ordering and purchasing of food and supplies
  • Oversee coordination of intakes of potential clients, as well as exit interviews with current clients, coordination of room assignments and changes
  • Provide oversight of Case Manager(s) on site to ensure compliance with case plans
  • Maintain inventory of supplies at shelter and coordinate maintenance and repairs
  • Along Quality Assurance Specialist, act as liaison to monitors and auditors at the shelter’s visits; help prepare for grant site visits and audits
  • Represent Hope at grant-related meetings as assigned
  • Coordinate/facilitate weekly staff meetings
  • Participate in Hope outreach activities and networking
  • After hours and holiday work as needed
  • Provide coverage as necessitates
  • Other duties as assigned
