Job description

Position Title: Shipper

  • Location: Stryker, OH

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?
Prepares and receives shipments, including all required documentation for compliance to US DOT regulations
In particular, you will:

  • Performs all job assignments in a safe manner according to Airgas SOPs.
  • Scraping, labeling and painting of cylinders
  • Moving of cylinders by usage of a cylinder cart and/ or forklift.
  • Load and unloading of trucks
  • Match up receiving returns with common carrier paperwork
  • Make sure all documentation matches cylinders
  • Make sure cylinders go out in a neat and presentable condition
  • Cylinder sorting
  • Basic knowledge of CFR 49
  • Keep a clean and orderly work area
  • Understanding Special permits
  • Basic computer operations for data entry and training
  • Utilizing basic calculations
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to coordinate efforts with multiple departments.
  • Aptitude for high precision work.
  • Ability to achieve HM 126 qualification
  • Ability to operate forklift and maintain forklift certifications.
  • Ability to Follow Directions, Make Decisions, Work in a team, and be Reliable.
  • High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum 1 year experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) or equivalent software.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to work all shifts; subject to all weather conditions
