Nature & Scope

The incumbent will work a two shift schedule, but may require other shift work as needed and will report to the Shipping Manager. The incumbent will be responsible for reporting to the Shipping manager any problems or safety issues pertaining to the area of responsibility and to assist in correcting those problems. The incumbent will understand the present inventory and shipping systems SAP and ERS.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Lead by example in the use of the 10 Key Safety Leadership Behaviors

• Prioritize the load schedule for shipping to accomplish daily shipping requirements

• Maximize shift productivity based on load schedule requirements and equipment availability

• Verify materials are available for shipments

o If the materials are not available, contact CSR, Plant Scheduler and the Shipping Manager

• Follow assigned loading times and prioritize gaps when time slots are not filled to meet or exceed loading targets

• Perform required weekly KSB audits

• Maintain communications with the securement teams to ensure proper spotting of trailers and continuous workflow on the docks

• Follow up to ensure trailer Pre-Loading Inspection Checklists are conducted by loading crews

• Plan for the next days orders and inventory requirements

• Understand and operate the SAP and ERS systems to access current inventory information, float production/scheduling, off-line production/scheduling, and ticket information

• Work with warehouse PI on locating incoming glass into warehouse

Training Requirements

• Overview of all the plant and departmental safety rules.

• Overview of all the procedures, work instructions and equipment applicable to the job. Will need to perform these items to the satisfaction of the immediate supervisor.

Qualification Requirements

• High School Diploma and Plant Test

• Customer focused

• Ability to work efficiently in a computerized environment

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Must be capable of using Excel, Word and Outlook

• Must be able to multi-task, work well under pressure, and have creative solutions to complicated problems.
