Shipping Coordinator

This Shipping Coordinator will include some leadership roles, and many operational tasks involved with communicating and coordinating the outbound shipping & processes at the company. This position would include many hands on responsibilities, running computer programs, and paperwork flow process including running systems from ordering trucks, pulling orders to staging, counting, verifying the product for the end customer. This is a high level thinking and problem solving position. Always looking for solutions to benefit the sales and customers. This position is located in Acequia, Idaho.

Position Responsibilities:

• Implement shipping systems
• Run programs and processes efficiently
• Assist in monitoring quality plant material is staged and loaded.
• Work closely with sales staff to ensure proper orders are pulled and any adjustments are made correctly and on time.
• Fast paced work environment.
• Excellent use of computer programs and phones to communicate and accomplish the daily work.
• Willingness to learn how to use small tractors, skid steer loaders and other equipment needed to move plant material around the shipping dock from time to time.
• Coordination with inventory staff to make sure proper items are invoiced out correctly.
• Working closely with the pulling crews to coordinate all orders are accounted for each day.
• Keeping track of paperwork and ensuring that proper pulling documents are printed daily for pulling crews and for truck delivery drivers.
• Other duties and assisting in other projects may be assigned from time to time.
• Proficient use of certain computer programs will be needed for much of this position.
• Ability to learn about the Department of Transportation protocols and rules and be willing to handle IFTA, Log Books, Registrations, and equipment needs.
• Bilingual is a plus, but not required.
• Daily work hours dependent upon how quickly orders are pulled, staged, counted, and loaded. Some days are very long and some are shorter. There is a seasonal nature to the shipping operation of the nursery.

The actual agreed wage and benefits for this position ultimately depends upon experience.

This position reports to the Shipping & Logistics Manager / General Manager.

This position is an entry level position where indoor and outdoor work is happening daily. Hours worked are dependent upon the needs of the shipping office moving all aspects forward with outlined schedules and not jeopardizing the quality and health of the trees. This position begins with a 90 day probationary period to determine longevity of the position. This position and all positions are at-will. This position also would work approximately 30-50 hours per week during the spring, summer, and fall depending upon the actual needs of the shipping office. Hours during the winter time will be limited depending upon the needs of the shipping & sales office. Hours from day to day will vary all through the season. This is not a typical 8-5 position. Some days may be 6 hours, the next day may be 12 hours. It will all depend upon the needs of getting the shipping completed each weekday. The ideal candidate will need to have a very flexible work ethic to fit the needs of the position.
