Shipping & Receiving Coordinator
Job description
POSITION SUMMARY
The administrative and shipping coordinator aids employees, staff and managers and is responsible for coordinating customer orders including production scheduling, and handles all administrative aspects of shipping and receiving.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Production Scheduling
- Access orders as input by Customer Service into Frontier
- Use I-Schedule module to initiate order processing, identify and control cell loading, facilitate management of order identification/shipping labels, and close manufacturing orders
Shipping and Receiving
- Compare bills of lading and bills of material against actual merchandise received, inspecting for damaged good and discrepancies
- Determine method of shipment and prepare bills, invoices, and other shipping documents. May be responsible for packaging items in preparation for shipment and to operate a forklift, hand truck or other equipment
- Organize distribution and shipping of merchandise, contact transport companies and suppliers to expedite, track or return merchandise
- Coordinate pick-up and drop-off schedules with transport companies, ensuring all shipping documents are properly maintained and filed, releasing customer orders as they are shipped
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications
- Skilled data entry and professional composition skills
- Powered Industrial Truck operator certification preferred
- Efficient time management and ability to work independently
EDUCATION, EXPEREINCE AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or equivalency preferred but not required
- 2-3 years’ experience in a manufacturing office environment strongly preferred
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to write, read and effectively communicate in English
- Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred
