Bethany of the Northwest, Silver Lake is looking for a full time Janitor, evening shift to join our amazing staff! This shift is Monday - Friday from 2:00pm-9:30pm.

The Janitor will perform the assigned day-to-day activities of the Janitorial Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing our facility, and as may be directed by the Housekeeping Lead and/or Facilities Supervisor, to assure that our facility is maintained in a clean, safe and sanitary manner.
Requirements
Janitorial Services Functions:
Must be able to pass background check and have a valid WA. State driver’s license.
1. Perform day-to-day janitorial functions as assigned.
2. Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments and in accordance with established janitorial procedures.
3. Floor care such as mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, disinfecting, etc. as assigned. (Note: Assure that appropriate caution/safety signs are properly set up prior to performing such duties.)
4. Clean carpets, to include vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, and disinfecting.
5. All other duties as may be assigned.

Safety and Sanitation Functions:*
1. Follow all established safety procedures and precautions in performing all duties.
2. Report all incidents/accidents, no matter how minor, to your supervisor immediately. (NOTE: Such occurrences must be reported on the shift in which they occur.)
3. Report all unsafe/hazardous conditions, defective equipment, etc. to your supervisor immediately.
4. Ensure that work/assignment areas are clean, and equipment, tools and supplies are properly stored before leaving such areas on breaks or at the end of work day.
5. Use protective clothing/devices when performing tasks that involve the handling of infectious waste and/or blood/body fluids observing all infection control procedures and precautions.
6. Follow established fire safety policies and procedures.
7. Others that may become necessary/appropriate to assure that our facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner.

Specific Requirements:*
- High School diploma or GED desirable.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Must be able to follow written and oral instructions concerning the mixture of cleaning compounds, liquids, cleaning instructions, etc.
- Must have the ability to make independent decisions, to follow instructions and to accept constructive criticism.
- Must be willing to work harmoniously with other personnel and residents as required.
- Candidate needs to be able multi-task, work independently and work well on a team.
