Job Title: Silversmith/Jewelry Instructor
Department: Art Studios and Gallery
Reports To: Art Studios and Gallery Manager
Rate of Pay: 50% of class fee or $8.00 per hour for non-class related work.
Shift: Part-Time, Year Round Position
Variable days and shifts depending on scheduled classes
Must be available to work nights, weekends and holidays
SUMMARY
Provide instruction in jewelry making techniques in but not limited to silversmithing, stone setting and beading.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Create the Sundance Experience for each guest.
Discuss student goals and assess level of proficiency.
Assist guest in his/her creation.
Maintain studio area.
Request and stock necessary supplies.
Maintain equipment and tools used in jewelry studio.
ALL SUNDANCE REPRESENTATIVES ARE EXPECTED TO:
Embrace and promote all facets of the Sundance Guiding Principles: vision, mission, cause, tenets service standards and values.
Exhibit job and product knowledge to accurately support and promote all Sundance departments, amenities and programming ventures.
Be able to work a flexible schedule, work well under pressure, meet deadlines.
Possess the necessary social skills to work with a broad based constituency and provide excellent service to all internal and external guests.
Demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.
Keep information confidential as directed in the confidentiality agreement and furthermore support and comply with all Sundance policies, procedures, and standards.
Protect Sundance assets.
Be an ambassador of Sundance inside and outside of work

DRESS CODE
Sundance recognizes the impact that our image has on the guest's impression of the resort and the perception of our ability to provide professional service to our clientele. In order to best promote a positive, professional image that meets Sundance guest's expectations, employees are required to dress in a professional, conservative fashion that is appropriate for their area. Please use the following as a minimum standard:
All aspects of the Personal Appearance policy (SPL#50) must be in compliance.
Operational managers are required to wear nametags at all times while on duty.
Clothing must be unwrinkled and clean, and in good condition (no rips, tears, or frays regardless of whether accidental or fashionably placed).
Blue jeans are permitted.
No loose ends that may be a hazard near equipment with moving parts.
Aprons required during class time.
Business casual attire for all Art Studios events and art openings.
Men's shirts must be tucked in.
Appropriate skirt length is from the knee to the ankle.
A tailored fit is required of all clothing.
Tank tops, halter tops tube tops, and spaghetti straps are prohibited.
Sleeveless shirts are permitted for females.
Bare midriffs are prohibited.
Proper footwear for your department is required.
Dress sandals are permitted for females.
Flip flops are prohibited in all areas.
Tennis shoes are prohibited unless there is a business need (ie: Mtn. Ops.)
If your department allows t-shirts, they must be in good condition and have appropriate Sundance logos.
If your department allows baseball caps, they must be in good condition and have appropriate Sundance logos.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one or more years of apprenticeship or education in art related field.
TECHNICAL/COMPUTER SKILLS

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret art instructional material and manuals for equipment required. Ability to communicate instructions and technique to guest/students. Must have very good communication skills. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Must have general math skills, and able to calculate customer change. Must have math skills to evaluate area, measurements, and proportions used in creating art. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions for classroom setting. Must be patient and thorough in instruction style. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
