Seeking a highly skilled Simulation Federation Planner/Operator.


Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Planning
    • Assists the customer in planning, preparing, and executing simulation supported events for AFC.
    • Assist the site/tech lead and engineering team by capturing user-needs; enable user-focused "design".
    • Be the "office linebacker" as directed by the lead.
  • Preparation
    • Drive progress through staff products and in meetings.
    • Coordinate operational (i.e., simulation and simulation lab capability) usage with the remainder of the contract team, specifically the onsite operations engineers (i.e., systems administrators)
    • Manage and deconflict 'the calendar'
    • Interfaces with all external participants and directs all aspects of distributed simulation events, including in-stride management of hardware, software, and data changes, and management of stop/start/restart and checkpoint reset operations.
  • Execution
    • Operates simulation systems, as required (e.g., OneSAF, OneSAF MSaaS/BLAST!, NGTS, etc.). Training will be provided.
    • Ensures the correct configuration of software, data, simulations, simulators, servers and tools used within a distributed simulation event.
    • Ensures scenario data and unit/entity composition, properties, system performance characteristics, and locations are accurate at exercise instantiation.

  • Ability to coordinate and form teams across a community with various levels of technical skill, knowledge, and experience
  • Professional military experience ( >17 yrs of service) with significant experience planning, preparing and executing training. This could include experience as an S3 OPS SGM or duty within a Mission Training Center (MTC) Army, Command and General Staff College (CGSC), Service equivalent or, Battle Staff Non-Commissioned Officer’s course or completion of the Sergeant Major’s Academy
  • Must possess a Secret clearance Ability to make things happen and act on professional judgement and intent
  • Nice to have(s) Six Sigma and/or project management certification, Instructor/facilitator skill identifier, Joint experience, Simulation operations experience, and Technical/systems administration
