Key Responsibilities

This position is responsible for coordinating the patient’s scheduling and financial clearance thru the wound care management process. Financial clearing includes but not limited to: • Validating the order (following protocols designed by the sleep lab) • Checking medical necessity • Verifying insurance eligibility • Obtaining authorization when necessary • Verifying authorization • Scheduling procedures • Scheduling follow-up visits • Pre-registration • Communicating financial responsibility to patient and scanning all documents and noting all communication into chart This position will also work with ordering provider offices to assist with ordering correctly and obtain necessary clinical documentation requested by the physician.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Experience: Six months or more of progressive work experience

Skills and Knowledge: Requires ability to provide quick and accurate information and direction in a fast paced environment. Superior communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills required. Knowledge of and ability to use computer hardware and software applications as well as a general understanding of telecommunication systems. Knowledge of medical terminology and having clinical awareness of department protocols, coding rules and guidelines is necessary.
