SMT SUPERVISOR



Job Purpose:

The SMT Supervisor is responsible for the hands-on management of the SMT manufacturing lines, including process controls are followed, scheduling of work ran as listed from Master Scheduler and supervision of all SMT personnel. Will lead technical operators utilizing a thorough understanding of SMT machinery and shop floor terminology in PCBA manufacturing

Nature of Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Plan, direct and coordinate the SMT manufacturing lines and processes.
  • Develop, troubleshoot, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods and ensure minimal downtime through utilizing knowledge of production equipment capabilities, change-over methods and quality control procedures.
  • Ability to determine minimal cycle time and provide training necessary to achieve Zero-Defect Quality and On-time Delivery.
  • Analyze and plan workforce utilization and workflow for maximum efficiency.
  • Confer with planning and engineering to ensure efficient production methods and lead lean manufacturing principles in the SMT area.
  • Estimate production times and staffing requirements to provide information for management decisions.
  • Communicate with management, engineering, and other staff regarding production schedules.
  • Customer-focused with demonstrated ability to schedule, forecast and meet deadlines.
  • Lead, teach, coach and mentor a workforce to support quality-driven, customer focused operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement though the use of Lean methodology and Six Sigma quality principles.
  • Lead in problem resolutions through proactive problem solving
  • Interview candidates for new positions as needed.
  • Perform other tasks as directed by supervisory and management staff.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in manufacturing/industrial engineering or Senior SMT Operator with 5 or more years of hands-on SMT printed circuit board assembly experience.
  • 1- 5 years management or Lead experience with SMT printed circuit board assembly and BGA technologies.
  • IPC-A-610 Certification and familiarity with AS9100 quality requirements.
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

This is an ITAR facility and applicant must be a US Citizen or a lawful Permanent Resident.
