GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB DESCRIPTION
Maintain Caldwell County’s social media presence by creating engaging content, monitoring engagement, and tracking metrics. As part of the public information team, this position also assists with maintaining the county’s website and video production. Work is performed under the supervision of the Public Information Officer.
SPECFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Creates engaging content for Caldwell County’s social media platforms
- Monitors social media accounts and responds as appropriate
- Develops and executes plans to grow the county’s social media efforts
- Tracks KPIs, web metrics, and SEO to show growth
- Maintains current knowledge of social media, its platforms, and best practices
- Assists with video content production
- Helps maintain the county’s website
- Functions as part of the public information team

MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE OF JOB
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in social media marketing, public relations, communications, marketing, or similar field.
EXPERIENCE
- Ability to create engaging social media content
- Experience as a social media specialist or similar position
- Excellent critical thinking, interpersonal, communication, time-management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to use social media for impressions and brand awareness
- Excellent knowledge of social media platforms including Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook
- Understanding of social media KPIs, web traffic metrics, and SEO
- Familiarity with publishing and web design
- Ability to edit and produce video content
- Ability to work as part of a team
