SUMMARY:
Oversees and supervises the social services staff of the shelter. Responsible for ensuring that residents of the shelter receive social services to which they are entitled.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To oversee and train the Case Managers, Childcare Workers and Job Coach as indicated.
- Responsible for the delivery of social services and entitlements to residents of the shelter to include health care of residents, including mental health.
- Works cooperatively and collaboratively with the staff on all details pertaining to social service delivery and entitlements.
- Provide weekly group supervision to the Social Services staff.
- Acts as liaison with agencies providing social services to the residents of the shelter.
- Monitors quality assurance program including the social service compliance regulations.
- Implement on-site programming in conjunction with the Program Director, including parenting, housing readiness, and other in-house programs as well as design curriculum for group work.
- Oversee and supervise the recreation/ childcare areas including supervision of recreation/childcare staff, and the programming of the area.
Position requires a Master’s Degree in Social Work with applicable work related experience, LMSW/LCSW preferred, including supervisory experience. Must be fluent in Spanish. Needs ability to establish workload priorities and balance diverse projects. Must have exceptional communication skills both orally and in writing with individuals and groups regarding complex and sensitive issues or regulations. Physical ability to perform the essential job functions are needed. In addition, the Social Services Director shall perform any duties as required to meet the needs of the program and the clients we serve.
