Job description
Are you a combo social media savant and storytelling savior?
Can you create a campaign that’d make a creative director proud, then win a Lion AND an Effie for it?
Do you wake up wishing you could use all your skills, words, and smarts to make the world a better place?
If you answered yes to all 3 of the questions above, we’re looking for you. (And if it was 2 out of 3, AND you’re awesome, we want to hear from you, too!)
Our Company
We’re Town Hall, a mission-driven agency harnessing the power of digital to do good. We partner with nonprofit and higher education clients including Meals on Wheels America, No Kid Hungry, Girls Scouts of America, ADL, Harvard, Cornell, and Columbia.
Town Hall is a proud member of Situation Group, an award-winning collective of two digital-first advertising agencies, a production studio and even a nonprofit—all championing brand experiences that support life-changing impact.
Our office is located in midtown Manhattan, and we are currently working in-office three days per week.
The Role
We’re seeking a deep thinker and sterling scribe to join our creative team who is interested in both Digital Social Strategy and Content Creation and will serve as the leader of our intrepid community manager team. You’ll create social media strategies and plans, execute and measure their performance, and craft copy that’ll have our audiences begging to engage. Your storytelling skills will come to life through video, organic, and paid assets living throughout the audience journey.
YOU’RE THE RIGHT FIT IF YOU:
- Love thinking about the big idea as much as polishing the small details—spelling, grammar, and fussy social ad specs.
- Are invigorated by the full gamut of writing tasks—Brand development? Video scripts? Social posts? Taglines? Landing pages? Email blasts? Bring ‘em on!
- Are grounded enough to wear the marching boots, and confident enough to lead the charge.
- Collaborate with everyone–creatives, analysts, account managers, and clients
- Love to experiment with jaw-dropping, original ideas that solve big problems in social, digital, and new technology, and can coach a team to do the same
- Are as comfy as a Snuggy in a high-growth environment with tight timelines.
Requirements
- 5+ years of social media and copywriting experience
- Experience in an agency setting leading teams (management experience a plus)
- A dazzling portfolio of work we all secretly wish we’d created
- A brain that is overflowing with grammar best practices, and the swagger to shatter those rules when necessary
- Experience wowing clients with your deck build and presentation skills
- Knowledge of current industry thinking on creative content strategy and execution
**Interested candidates must submit a digital portfolio for review*
Benefits
We offer a competitive base salary and a range of benefits and perks:
- Health care plan (medical, dental and vision)
- Retirement plan with employer match
- Life and disability insurance
- Generous paid time off package that includes vacation, sick, “life happens” days, birthdays, summer Fridays and public holidays
- Paid family leave
- Cold brew coffee, snacks and fresh fruit
- Wellness resources
- Special access to New York City’s arts and entertainment scene
We have been honored for our commitment to our team with workplace awards from Crain’s, Best Companies Group, Cynopsis, Digiday, and Fortune.
