Job description
New York City based social services organization focused on providing comprehensive care to thousands of children, young people and families who come from New York’s diverse communities seeks social worker (LMSW preferred but experienced BAs will be considered) to work in one of their various programs serving the needs of children.
Essential Job Duties:
- Complete monthly home visits with youth, parents, and foster parents
- Assess and provide family therapy to aid in discharge planning
- Perform ongoing clinical assessments and psycho-education for children and families
- Prepare permanency hearing reports and present in court
- Develop and facilitate support groups for all clients (parent, foster parents, children)
- Attend Family Team Conferences, monthly case conferences, and other relevant meetings
- Assist with hospitalization and discharge planning following hospitalization
- Provide crisis intervention as needed
- Maintain progress notes and manage the case record
- Hybrid work schedule
Qualifications:
- Master's in Social Work, Mental Health Counselor, Psychology or related clinical degree
- Experience serving youth and families is required; internship experience is acceptable
- Should demonstrate the ability to focus treatment and planning with children and families towards permanency.
