Position Summary: Calling on retiring, retired, and existing healthcare workers to grow the next generation to fill your shoes and make a difference. If you are or were licensed or credentialed in roles like nursing, medical assistants, and other allied health/medical fields, you know the importance of essential skills like empathy, cultural competence, teamwork, collaboration, communication, learning and achieving better patient outcomes. Now, you can mentor others from diverse communities to develop these essential skills by teaching Futuro Health's Human Touch Healthcare course. You can do this part time, online, and continue to make a big positive difference in the lives of students and their eventual patients.

The team of Online facilitators are responsible for guiding participants through the learning experience during video calls, responding thoughtfully and timely to participants posts in Canvas, sensing and responding to individual and group needs, and modeling best practices as an online facilitator.

Essential Job Functions

1. Facilitate synchronous and asynchronous instruction modules including reviewing and responding to discussion posts

2. Regularly communicate with participants about their progress as well as upcoming course activities

3. Track participation in the Canvas course system

4. Participate in debriefing calls with the facilitation team

5. Facilitate multiple 1-hour live sessions using a conferencing tool in Canvas

6. 2 hours per week of prep and grading

7. Enforce academic policies

8. Enforce code of conduct

9. Provide real-time feedback to students

10. Remediate students

11. Complete all grading in specified timeframe

12. Notify Program Development Specialist on students at-risk and students who fail courses

13. Interact with students in a professional manner, offering constructive, encouraging, and timely feedback.

14. Conduct weekly “live” video lectures and/or discussion (using Canvas Collaborate).

Qualifications:

1. Prior experience teaching (preferred)

2. Experience facilitating a course using an LMS like Canvas (preferred)

3. Demonstrate effective facilitation skills during a 10-minute teaching demo

4. Background in allied health

Supervisory Responsibility:

This role will have no supervisory responsibility over other staff.

Work Environment/Travel:

This is a remote role. No travel will be required.

Physical Demands:

Able to drive, sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time. Ability to work long and irregular hours including nights and weekends.

Position Type:

This is a contractor role. Hours may include weekends, nights and holidays.

Education: Candidates should have some college; Minimum 1 year experience in an Allied Health occupation
