Position: Software Architect (Subject Matter Expert)
Location: Albuquerque, NM
Clearance: Ability to obtain a DOE Q or L Clearance. US Citizenship is required for clearance (i.e., no dual citizenships).
KeyLogic is currently searching for a Software Architect to support one of our Department of Energy contracts in the Albuquerque, NM area.
Currently, this position is onsite in Albuquerque. The selected candidate must be able to reliably commute or be open to relocating to the Albuquerque area. If offered the position, a government background investigation would be required for a security clearance. Since this position falls under the Department of Energy, the clearance does require exclusive US Citizenship (i.e., no dual citizenship).
This role would would support multiple national security software projects in the development of custom modern software applications for various aspects of National Defense and Nuclear Incident Response. Our applications include scientific modeling, information management, decision support, image analysis, 3D modeling and mapping, machine learning, and more. We work with dedicated engineers and scientists to create tools to enable emergency responders and analysts to detect, assess, and counter threats from a nuclear incident or attack. Responsibilities
Tasks: On any given day, you may be called on to:
- Participates on teams of software and systems engineers
- Plan and manage cost and schedule for software projects
- Meet with customers and experts to capture technical requirements and report on development progress/status
- Produce user stories, wireframes, diagrams, and prototypes
- Program user interfaces in Java Swing, Java FX, or React
- Support software development on and deployment to classified network systems
- Assist in recruitment, hiring, and mentoring of new team members
- Propose innovative technological solutions and support proposal development for new projects
- Provide model-level and system-level knowledge and expertise to users, program leaders/partners, and customers
Qualifications
Required:
- BS Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering plus 8 years’ experience
- Experience in UI/UX design and development
- Experience with cross-platform development/deployment (MacOS, Windows, Linux)
- Experience with software quality control and testing, including continuous integration and unit testing
- Experience on teams of software and systems engineers including planning and managing of cost, schedule, and technical requirements of software projects
- Experience with developing in C#, C/C++, Java, or Python
Desired:
- Active DOE Q with SCI clearance
- Experience with NNSA's WMD Response or Counter Proliferation mission and programs
- Experience developing software on DOE classified networks
- Experience developing modeling and simulation tools
- Strong organizational skills and experience successfully balancing multiple priorities and deadlines
- Ability to exercise long term strategic planning
- Excellent communication skills

Pay: $102,000.00 - $117,000.00 per year
