Responsibilities*
We are looking for a software developer / bioinformatician who is able to work independently on a NIH-funded 5-year biomedical informatics project. The software developer will be responsible for database development, database and web server administration, software development, supporting the algorithm implementation and evaluation, use case studies, and outreach and training. He or she will also address user requests and answer technical emails.
Required Qualifications*
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 1-2 years of analysis/programming activities in a business environment
- Strong skills in software programming in languages including PHP, Java, Python.
- Solid background in database development and maintenance.
- Experienced Linux/Unix administration background.
Desired Qualifications*
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in bioinformatics, Semantic Web, ontology, or information science.
- Experience as a an author/co-author on published bodies of work
Background Screening
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.
