Role Summary

Under the supervision of the Technology Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for completing his/her tasks within the framework of ongoing development and operation of a wireless in-flight service and entertainment solution. More concretely, the successful candidate will create Linux environments as well as deploy software and tools on production / QA or Demo servers. The candidate will also be involved in the development of CI environment and could work on different web modules and components mainly for back-end in a Python framework environment inside of a product-oriented development team. The position requires working closely with members of the product, development, operations and support teams.

What You'll Be Doing

• Analyze project specifications and provide suggestions relevant to the project;
• Be involved in architectural design and analysis with architects and other team leads;
• Develop and maintain production / QA and Demo environment using standard Linux tools and software;
• Update and maintain CI environment for the development;
• Develop new back-end modules and components required by the framework;
• Work on existing modules/components and applications for maintenance when required;
• Determine tasks to be carried out using Jira;
• Estimate development time;
• Carry out preliminary tests and unit tests;
• Carry out necessary adjustment following recommendations from quality assurance;
• Validate and test the Software in a variety of portable electronic devices;
• Create/update the documentation throughout development;
• Collaborate with parties involved throughout the project;
• Keep abreast with new Web integration technologies.

What We Are Looking For

• College or university diploma related to computer science;
• Strong expertise working on complex problems and has the experience to quantify the technical debt after proposing a solution;
• Strong experience as a developer or system administrator with a minimum of experience as a Dev(Sec)Ops;
• Strong experience with GNU/Linux (systemd, SUSv4, POSIX, Shell);
• Experience with command line interface (CLI), comfortable looking over technical documentations;
• Strong experience with software development best practices: pull-requests, oriented object and others;
• Strong Experience with cloud environment and virtualization (AWS is an asset);
• Experience with network configuration and security (TCP/IP, Modèle OSI, DNS, DNSSEC, IPv4, IPv6, VPN, HTTP(s), TLS, SAML, Reverse Proxy, OWASP, CSRF, XSS, ACL, SELinux, firewalling, PKI, X.509);
• Hashicorp products experience is an asset (Terraform, Vault, Packer, Nomad, Consul);
• System architecture and monitoring system experience is an asset
• Fluent in English and French spoken and written.
