JOB SUMMARY/OVERVIEW
The Software Engineer is responsible for creating CI / CD pipelines, build and deployment of releases, supporting developers and automating release and deployment process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Investigating and understanding software changes from Development teams
  • Formulate deployment strategies for different software changes and build consensus
  • Understanding the release packages and variations of deployment processes for different environments for those packages
  • Interfacing with configuration management tools for various deployment automations
  • Understanding the IT governance, security, and compliance aspect of deployments and strive to make sure automations strictly follows the related standards and guidelines
  • Supporting the engineering teams in resolving the deployment issues
  • Managing tools’ access to users
  • Documenting the deployment automation designs and processes
  • Deliver seamless end-to-end automated deployments with traceable logs
  • Developing reusable, maintainable and robust software/scripting modules to facilitate the nuts and bolts of the deployment automation framework
  • Deploying packages in on-prem and cloud environments as required
  • Upgrading deployment tools as and when needed
  • Monitoring deployment tools for onprem and cloud to provide proactive solutions
  • Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the manager’s discretion.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent and/or related work experience.

Training Requirements (licenses, programs, or certificates):
AWS certification preferred

Experience:
  • 4+ years of experience in DevOps / CI/CD pipeline automation
  • Solid programming skills in Python, Java, Perl
  • Good understanding of software design principles and best practices
  • Good knowledge of REST APIs
  • Should have hands-on experience in any deployment orchestration tool (Jenkins, Urbancode, Bamboo, etc.)
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm charts
  • Hands on experience in Ansible and Git repositories
  • Knowledge in Maven / Gradle
  • Hans on experience in Linux environments
  • Understanding of infrastructure as code
  • Good experience in creating clear and concise documentation
