The Software QA Specialist oversees the quality of products produced by the Software Development Team. This position focuses on process improvements that result in high quality production operation of software products. In addition, the Software QA Specialist monitors for and reports on quality issues and is responsible for ensuring the team's processes change to avoid repeated issues.

What you’ll do:
As a Software QA Specialist at FACTS SIS, you will oversee the quality of products produced by the software development team. You will monitor for and report on quality issues and advocate for changes to avoid repeated issues. Effectively define testable user stories, including test cases and acceptance criteria. You will help ensure that automated tests created are adequate to enable a high-quality continuous deployment process as well as participating in and ensuring there is a peer review process for the test suite.
Salary Range: $70,000-$85,000
As a Software QA Specialist, a typical day might include:
- Acquiring information from Product Owners and Team members to effectively define testable user stories that include test cases and acceptance criteria.
- Triage, validate and track bugs or issues that are reported to the team.
- Advocate for quality and ensure teams are adhering to best practices.
- Read and evaluate automated tests, participate in the Pull Request review process, recommend opportunities to improve effectiveness and efficiency of automated tests.
- Lead after action reviews to ensure team is learning from issues and improving their QA practices.
- Effectively communicating initiatives/product statuses, working with Product Owner and Team to address stakeholder issues/concerns.
You Have:
- Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience.
- 2+ years of experience with NBS products or similar position at another company.
- Experience learning to read and understand programming languages.
- Experience learning database querying skills.
- Ability to implement and execute multiple forms of testing to cover the entire Software Development Lifecycle.
- Strong desire to learn, push the envelope, and share knowledge with others.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate with clients, colleagues, and management to explain complex issues clearly and concisely.
