SOFTWARE SUPPORT SPECIALIST
Summary/Objective
Responsible for assisting all United employees optimize their usage of our business technology tools in support of our growth, profitability, and sustainability goals. Interact daily with colleagues who are serving customers and adding value in a highly competitive and pressurized environment. Ability to effectively and efficiently implement changes to our software and hardware allowing us to improve our quality.
Essential Functions
- Provide support and training for our end users regarding PC, iPad, Smart-Phone, and Applications.
- Develop, implement, and maintain programs including web-based and database application systems.
- Identify, research, and resolve technical problems.
- Responds to telephone calls, emails, and personnel requests for technical support in a timely manner. Document, track, and monitor issues via Trackit.
- Troubleshoot issues with existing or developed systems and work with the appropriate resources to resolve them.
- Assist the Network Administrator as needed.
- Practical knowledge with standard database and web programming, practices, and procedures within the software field.
- Ability to use MS Office suite and Windows networking environment, including TCP/IP, DSN, and DHCP.
- Working knowledge of Linux operating system.
- Continuous learning of Access, SQL Server and SharePoint.
- Adhere to all United Electric health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Act in a safe and positive manner always, ensure that those around you do not put themselves or others at risk. Your personal safety is your responsibility.
- Complete an accident/Incident report for any safety and/or health infractions that occurs or is witnessed.
- Perform other duties as obvious or assigned.
