Olson Solar Energy is one of the first solar companies based in the Lacrosse, WI area and have recently expanded into the Eau Claire Area. We are currently seeking a Solar Designer. As a Solar Designer, your responsibility will be to design and develop site plans for solar projects throughout Northern Wisconsin and Minnesota.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is a hands-on motivated individual who will design and manage solar projects through the installation process. The Solar Designer will be designing solar systems for residential, commercial, and agriculture properties. Once the solar project is sold the Solar Designer will then prepare and design CAD files and site visits for projects and help with filing permitting for Energy Companies and local jurisdictions throughout Wisconsin. They will be required to work effectively with multiple parties throughout the installation process. i.e; energy companies, local jurisdictions, installation teams, electrical teams, and others as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Designing and preparing CAD files for projects
  • Pulling, filling out and submitting required permits for both utility companies, AHJs and municipalities.
  • Coordinating projects with project managers, installers, electricians, inspectors, utility providers, etc.
  • Creating site plans for projects
  • Designing PV systems
  • Understanding and answering technical questions pertaining to Solar for energy companies, local jurisdictions, etc.
  • Maintain professional relationships with all customers
  • Maintain customer confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential
  • Other duties as requested

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school degree or equivalent (required)
  • Driver's license (required)
  • US work authorization (required)
  • Prior experience in solar industry (preferred)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.50 per hour
