Job Title: Commissioning Technician I
Pay : $26.00 / hour [ weekly ]

Summary of Role:

SunPower New Homes is seeking a Junior Commissioning Technician I to work as the field representative performing system activation for newly installed photovoltaic systems in a set region. This role includes setting up communication between rooftop and ground-level equipment and also troubleshooting systems that fail to be commissioned or are underperforming.
This position involves managing a high volume of residential and multi-family zoned projects. Working directly with scheduling team, customer care, technical support, internal stakeholders, homeowners, and home builder staff as needed. Documenting the quality of a system installation is required to ensure commissioning can be done efficiently

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Commission residential PV systems – Residential and Multi-Family buildings
2. Complete on-site diagnosis of system operation, performance, and productivity
3. Use phone-based applications to collect photographs, input data, and create site-specific reports in real time from job sites
4. Identify, coordinate, and observe work completed by sub-contractors
5. Document time and workflow with schedulers and supervisor in real time
6. Complete assigned training and qualification requirements within a specified timeframe, including meeting or exceeding minimum test score requirements
7. Prepare reports and communicate to stakeholders in real time, as to the results of commissioning activities
8. Perform other duties assigned including procedure development and best practices for safety and quality
9. Access electrical distribution panels and other equipment safely to document how the system was built
10. Remove/add breakers and production CTs in the main service panel

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Modesto, CA: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:
