Position Overview
The Solution Architect (Field service rep) is responsible for assessing, designing and leading the entire deal engagement lifecycle on complex managed services solutions across the entire Insight connected workforce service portfolio to meet our client’s technology and business needs. Incumbents will be seen as the leading advisor to both account team and the solution project teams and are seen as the client advocate that analyze and design technical and long-term strategies that support strategic client opportunities. In addition, the Solution Architect provides, training and technical support to other solution Architect and sales team members and service delivery as it pertains to the client solution.

What you’ll do at Insight

  • Communicating Insight Solutions and multi-site deployments.
  • Assists or lead pre-sales support, communicating core service offerings to clients at the C-suite and VP level
  • Leads identification of business and technical requirements for solution framework and service strategy.
  • Researches and evaluates client service infrastructure and architecture; draws conclusions; and develops recommendations in accordance with engagement objectives and solution framework.
  • Manages the deal engagement consisting of internal client personnel for solution design, solution roadmap, win strategy, profitability, risk, and consultant utilization.
  • Works with internal personnel to define service opportunities, and develop standards of delivery, templates, and standard work products to meet internal and external delivery expectations.
  • Identifies and resolves device lifecycle issues with clients from readiness to end of life.
  • Delivers briefings, status reports, presentations, and milestone deliverables to clients and prospects.
  • Writes proposal components or letters of understanding, as needed, and responds to RFPs and other marketing situations.
  • Reviews and Approves best and final cost and price model strategy for competitive bid initiatives
  • Designs and Approves Statements of Work and provide solution program Q.A. and oversight.
  • Ensures Implementation of technologies and solutions based on the solution design in the transition phase.
  • Leverage knowledge of services across the connected workforce portfolio to design new types of solutions that add value to Insight
  • Will utilize presales industry experience to assess and develop revisions to product profiles, price models and service solution design.
  • Assists with the recruiting and mentoring of Solution Architects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you’ll need to join Insight

  • A bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or demonstrated performance in a technical work environment is required.
  • Background in consulting and services
  • Must show competency as a solution Architect and help as a pre-sales engagements within the entire connected workforce service portfolio.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a solution Architect role.
  • Minimum eight years of experience solution architecting, designing and implementation of advanced connected workforce and network solutions.
  • Minimum four years of experience managing technical or general architects through managed services deal engagements in a fast-paced environment. Previous consulting/professional services experience is required.
  • Strong ability to cultivate relationships with partners, suppliers in order to develop and share understanding of technology roadmaps both within Insight and with Insight’s client community required.
  • Must have in depth working experience in workplace services solution design, consulting and price modeling methodologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate both technical and abstract concepts in a clear and concise manner a must.
  • Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively required.
  • Must be able to multi-task effectively.
  • Ability to interface effectively with client executives in a professional and businesslike manner is a must.
  • Experience training and mentoring of personnel.
  • Must have formal sales training, from OEM, service provider or relevant work experience.
  • Must have prior experience in areas of solution architecting, client engagement, management, recruiting, mentoring, training, staff development, etc.
