Sorority Facility Director – Gamma Phi Beta at the University of Denver

You will manage the household, vendors, and facility-related projects. Summary

This part-time position is responsible for creating and maintaining a high-quality chapter living experience for our members. The facility director is in a live-in leadership position at the Theta Chapter house of Gamma Phi Beta at the University of Denver. The facility director carries out facility maintenance, and upkeep duties, supervises staff (if applicable), and maintains positive relationships with chapter members, stakeholders at the University of Denver, and vendors. This position has an anticipated start date of December 2022.

Essential Functions

  • Ensure the safety and security of chapter house residents by coordinating day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of chapter house.
  • Notify the Affiliated House Corporation Board (“AHC”) regarding major items needing attention. Seek approval from AHC for repair and maintenance to the chapter house if a situation requires immediate attention and/or an incident or service incurs a cost of over $500.
  • Supervise activities of vendors or workers on site.
  • Responsible for securely managing chapter house access and entry for residents and chapter members.
  • Maintain household accounts, as specified by the AHC.
  • Receive, verify and submit any bills for payment to AHC.
  • Keep accurate records for employee credit card reconciliation.
  • Coordinate food service operations to the chapter house.
  • Work with chef company to ensure that meals are being served.
  • Participate in the food committee (if applicable).
  • Provide feedback to AHC if the chef company is not meeting chapter members’ dietary needs.
  • Purchase breakfast and snack items for the chapter at Costco, one to two times per week.
  • Keep AHC informed of any inspection of the chapter house by insurance adjusters, fire department agents, university officials, government agents, or others concerned with the house's maintenance, safety, and security. Forward copies of any written reports to AHC.
  • Ensure C-cure and security systems are functioning.
  • Work with AHC to oversee University of Denver groundskeepers and other contractors for lawn and garden maintenance, tree trimming, and gutter cleaning.
  • Attend emergency repairs and notify AHC immediately to report any damage, fire, accident, or incident.
  • Keep accurate records of all maintenance items, purchases, and warranty items.
  • Order, manage, maintain, and inventory household supplies.
  • Ensure all service companies working for the chapter house present a current Certificate of Insurance before beginning any work at the chapter house.
  • Retain all copies of Certificate of Insurance and workman’s comp insurance.

Additional Job Functions

  • Coordinate the opening and closing of the chapter house each term as directed by the AHC.
  • Comply with University regulations and report as required.
  • Meet weekly with the chapter president, chapter house manager, and other relevant officers.
  • Obtain the social calendar from the chapter house manager and address any scheduling conflicts as needed.
  • Provide professional and diplomatic interactions with students, parents, alumni, service providers, and community resources. In addition, maintain a reciprocal and respectful relationship with the chapter executive board.
  • Effective and timely communication with AHC, chapter leadership, and vendors regarding any maintenance issues or concerns of the chapter women. Attend AHC meetings as requested and provide any necessary reports.
  • This position is highly active and requires significant walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing stairs.
  • This includes but is not limited to light janitorial and maintenance support.
  • The employee must frequently lift or move items over 25 pounds. The employee may periodically lift or move items up to 50 pounds.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Products (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams), Zoom
  • Previous property management experience and/or house director experience is a plus
  • Greek membership and/or experience preferred

Working Conditions:

  • Live-in at the sorority house with a private living area, seven nights per week with meals provided. Limited off-site time during the academic year schedule.

Education and/or Experience

An associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school (further education is a plus); or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Compensation

$20 - $22/hour, with a guaranteed 20 hours a week.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
