Job description
Works with the Executive Chef to create and execute menu for the entire restaurant and theatre operation. Accountable for the overall success of the daily kitchen operations, supervising the kitchen to guarantee consistency and quality food is produced while ensuring sanitation and food standards are achieved. - Assists the Executive Chef in performing daily functions in relation to the back of the house.
- Have knowledge and ability to work every kitchen station.
- Supervising all employees on shift.
- Enforce safety and sanitary practice and maintenance of the back of house. Ensure compliance with operational standards, company policies, federal/state/local laws and ordinances.
- Assist in receiving orders and monthly inventory.
- Maintains all food supplies for production.
- Ensures all kitchen equipment is in working order.
- Trains, coaches, and counsels employees as needed.
- Ensures all work stations are cleaned and stocked at the end of the shift.
- Works with the Executive Chef to maintain food costs within the established guidelines.
- Maintain an open line of communication with managers and supervisors concerning all guest related issues and work together to resolve any problems.
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor’s or related culinary degree, with a minimum of 2 years in a full service, high volume kitchen is preferred.
- ServSafe certification required.
- Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with persons of diverse backgrounds.
- Knowledge about plating and presentation.
- Must be able to stand and/or walk for periods of up to 12 hours, be able to lift up to 50 pounds, and push a cart up to 150 pounds.
- Must be able and willing to work a flexible schedule including day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
- This position require lawful authorization and documentation to work in the United States.
- Must report to work on time, well-groomed, in clean and proper uniform and practices good personal hygiene.
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
