Job description
The Specialist 3-Production/Signs and Graphics is knowledgeable in all areas of signs & graphics design and production, and consistently delivers a quality product. Specialist’s time will be spent producing signs and graphics orders and operating equipment that requires advanced operational knowledge and expertise; managing, monitoring and facilitating all production processes. The Specialist 3 will also assist and sometimes solely work in standard print production.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
Follows instructions of supervisors and assists other team members in performing printing services’ functions. Assists in the training of team members. Ensures communication among shifts. Provides expertise in printing wide format and signs and graphics, and can recommend appropriate products and services. Provides an outstanding customer experience by using consultative skills to anticipate customer needs, suggest alternatives, and find solutions to meet customer needs. Also installs signs and graphics projects, including window decals, banners, and other substrate installation.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties Continued Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent education.
2 years of design and printing experience is preferred (preferably with Roland equipment). Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
2 years of design and printing experience is preferred (preferably with Roland equipment). Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience required: finishing signs and banners; using a heat press and sublimation; utilizing the Adobe Suite of software; lamination and mounting; decal and sticker plotting and application; sign installation; use of copiers/printers (especially wide format). Ability to work independently and in group settings, depending on the situation; utilize materials appropriately; meet deadlines in a sometimes hectic environment; be flexible with workflow changes. Must be comfortable with heights as using a lift might be required for installation. Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College. Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities.
Non-Essential Responsibilities and Duties
Maintaining an organized work environment. Assisting in production of other printing orders if workflow is minimal in wide format. General cleaning and organization of production facility.
