Summary:
The Division Mechanical Specialist is responsible for the support of mechanical operations as it applies to daily activities and associated projects for assigned locations within the Division. The Mechanical Specialist’s responsibilities include technical support, training, project development and execution, O&M and Capital budget support and management, as well as support of corporate initiatives/projects. The Mechanical Specialist also works with operation locations to provide support for maintaining compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements related to emissions testing, overhaul management, as well as response and support of mechanical related emergencies. The Mechanical Specialist reports to the Central Division Reliability Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Candidate must have an excellent mechanical aptitude.
- Candidate must have the ability to work with mechanics having various experience levels.
- Candidate expected to have exceptional troubleshooting and maintenance experience with high speed separable reciprocating compressor packages, slow speed integral compressors, turbine driven centrifugal compressor packages, all types of pumps and seal plans/designs, screw compressors, plant and field operational theory, liquid and gas operational theory, electrical motor maintenance, etc…
- Candidate expected to have experience with programable logic controllers and associated end devices.
- Candidate expected to have operation, maintenance, and administrative experience. Candidate should have effective written & verbal communication, as well as interpersonal skills to work in a collaborative environment.
- Candidate expected to understand phased data collection, analysis, and reporting. Familiar with data collected with the Windrock performance Analyzer
- Candidate expected to have knowledge of Spectrum Analysis/Vibration collection and analysis techniques.
- Candidate must be a self-starter, have good organizational skills, be able to work with minimal Supervision, and be able to accept constantly changing priorities.
- Candidate expected to collaborate with vendors and customers in a factual and professional manner.

Required Skills
- Basic education with specialized course work or training in physical sciences, mathematics, mechanical technology, and personnel management.
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- 6+ years of relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Extensive turbine experience is a plus.
- Computer skills in Microsoft applications, SAP, Apttus, and DataParc.
- Previous experience in conducting group training sessions is a plus.
- Should be a good communicator and work planner with excellent work ethics.
Working Conditions:

- The Division Mechanical Specialist is required to live within the work location assigned.
- Incumbent could be subject to call out 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and extended workdays and/or workweeks.
- Required to carry a cell phone and could be subject to 24-hr/day callout at any time for emergency response.
- Ability to travel is required and may be extensive, at times.
- Candidate must have a proven safe driving record.
- Work areas include industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment be worn.
