This position works 16 hours per week. Hours of work varies from M-Sat 6am-6pm.

Operates County van transporting elderly and disabled riders throughout the County

75%- Provide door-to-door service for elderly and disabled passengers.

• Assist passengers from the first door encountered at the building to the vehicle. Drivers may open the first door of the building, but do not go inside. Provide reasonable assistance to the passenger, e.g. offering an arm, pushing a wheelchair if needed.
• Fill out required daily paper work following each shift.
• Promote good public relations for COA in this highly visible service.

• Perform a "pre-trip and post-trip inspection of vehicle using checklist provided.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum and clean interior of van and keep it tidy and sanitary.
• Keep vehicle filled with fuel

• Knowledge of vehicle maintenance requirements.
• Ability to get along well with people and present a good image of COA.
• Possess the personal attitudes and aptitude for successfully relating to and providing service for the elderly and persons with disabilities.
• Ability to work independently with a minimum supervision.
• Skill in driving the county van during difficult weather and traffic conditions.
• Ability to follow directions.
• Ability to work varied hours when necessary.
• Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form.
• Ability to operate a tablet and google maps
• Ability to operate a two way radio
• Ability to present a professional image.
• Ability to operate county van/bus on all surface, county and interstate roads within Rock County
• Ability to be subject to random alcohol / drug testing under DOT / FTA guideline
• Possess knowledge of the street layout and major destination points in Rock County.

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Pass a criminal and caregiver background check.
• Possession of Valid Wisconsin driver's license and excellent driving record as reported by State MotorVehicles
• Pass a preemployment drug& alcohol screen that meets all US DOT requirements (FTA)
• No convictions for drunk driving (DWI OWI) , reckless driving, or a fatal accident.
• No license suspensions or revocations for any reason within the past five (5) years.
• No preventable accidents within the past two (2) years

• Involves occasional to continuous exposure to noise, dirt, moisture, and outdoor conditions in all types of weather.
