Position Summary
The Press Floating Helper is responsible for assisting in routine aspects of press operation by performing manual and machine operator tasks in the set-up, maintenance and operation of Menasha's presses.

-Assists operations in achieving quality and throughput goals and further assists press operators in maximizing press throughput.

- Assist press operators with all make-ready responsibilities and flip stock in order to keep the presses running and staged for upcoming jobs.

-They will be responsible for ensuring that presses are supplied properly prior to print production, to ensure press efficiencies are met.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

• Demonstrate commitment to safety and performs job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures
• Understand job ticket information to determine quantity, stock specifications, special work instructions, and any other special customer requirements
• Review the schedule and stage required stock and materials needed for upcoming jobs
• Set up the press feeder and keep it running properly
• Fill containers of cleaning solvents, water, fountain solution and ink as needed
• Adjust press throughout the run to maintain sheet position and registration
• Assist with the removal, replacement, and maintenance of rollers
• Must be qualified to operate skid turners and lift truck equipment
• Responsible for weekly Preventive Maintenance and housekeeping duties
• Assist with decisions regarding the quality of finished product
• Complete required quality inspections and paperwork
• Work with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance
• Contribute to overtime needs to meet customer demands
• Ability to act as a backup Feeder in all functions of the feeder position
• Understand department communication systems, schedules, time/attendance system and job reporting requirements
• Actively participate in Lean manufacturing initiatives

• Mechanical aptitude

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand 8-12 hours
• Must be able to use hands for grasping product, pushing & pulling skids of product using manual pallet jack, reaching above shoulder height at times to remove items from shelving units
• Must be able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
• Frequent bending, lifting, walking, and climbing stairs of press
