Title: Speech & Language Pathologist or CFY

Location: IN-PERSON - Hiring for Santa Maria & Lompoc

Divisions: Early Start and School Age

Company Description(s): We are a multi-disciplinary therapy agency with two service divisions: 1) Early Start (birth-3) and 2) School Age (3-16). Our Early Start division provides therapy services (Speech, OT, PT, Vision, Child Development) to our young clientele in a natural environment/home-based therapy model. Due to shelter in place directives mandated by the state in response to COVID-19, we are currently providing telehealth therapy. Both Spanish and English clientele are provided services in both a consultative and direct therapy model on a weekly and bi-monthly basis and as authorized by our local Tri-Counties Regional Center. The School Age division is a center-based position that would provide both individual and group therapy services to private paying and Medi-Cal clients on a weekly and bi- monthly basis. PT and OT services are also provided through this division.

Job Description:

  • Provide evaluations, reports, goals, direct therapy and consultation services to both Early Start and School Age children and their families
  • Implement and collaborate with trans-disciplinary team services to children in our Early Start division to clientele with a variety of developmental and diagnostic indicators (Autism, Down Syndrome, etc)
  • Attend and report at multi-disciplinary team meetings on a bi-annual and annual basis as requested and indicated by the Early Start program
  • Provide consultation services to parents/caregivers, teachers, and to community specialists and professionals regarding client progress and recommendations

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Speech & Language Pathology
  • CFY applicants with appropriate background and experience are encouraged to apply
  • CA License and Clinical Certificate of Competence;
  • At least 1-2 years’ experience working with children and families preferred.
  • Experience in Early Intervention
  • Experience working in-home and providing parent training
  • Experience with diverse communication disorders and delays
  • Experience with diverse developmental delays and disorders in infants and toddlers
  • Ability to conduct developmental evaluations in all domains (ex. gross motor, fine motor, social-emotional, communication and adaptive skills) as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Ability to drive to all home-based therapy appointments in the Santa Barbara area. However due to COVID-19, we are currently providing therapy remotely.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to develop an individualized in-home program that observes best practices for working with infants, toddlers and families
  • Spanish skills are an asset, but not required.
  • Strong report writing skills for multi-disciplinary reports
  • Demonstrate solid professional communication and the ability to work with a variety of therapists, specialists, families and community professionals (Regional Center, social workers, psychologists, physicians)
  • Must possess proof of liability insurance
  • Must possess proof of a valid California driver's license and auto insurance
